Ready to begin the 2015 racing season

The wait  is soon over, the 2015 racing season will finally begin this Sunday. It will be a short 55 km introduction to lactate overdose for my body that has been sleeping for almost half a year. You can do a race hard despite the shortness of it, and I guess I'm ready to digest the lactate.

The off season has really been good to me. I haven't been ill, at least not for more than a couple of days, and I've been able to track more hours than any previous year. I've been mainly working on my engine, trying to increase the aerobic threshold watts. Last years I've been struggling usually between the second and the third hour of a race, mainly because I haven't been able to get my heart rates low enough, even slipstreaming. And I  actually managed to increase the watts. The long hours during the Rapha Festive 500 certainly helped me achieving that, and the short winter made the first longer outdoor rides possible at an earlier stage than before. Zwift has also helped me track longer hours indoors on the trainer.

Riding outdoors despite bad weather beats hitting hours indoors.

Another great thing this year is the fact that I have a superb group to ride together with. The best part, after the fact that all the guys are really great people, is the fact that I am riding with cyclists better than me. That creates the perfect training company and inspiration for training even harder. Riding as a team in races also enables the possibility to work together towards a common goal any given day. I hope my legs can contribute to at least some help on the roads.

First group ride this year was all fun despite really chilly conditions

So the first race will be Lattomeriajot upcoming Sunday, April 19th 2015. I've never done that before, and never started the racing season this early. Really looking forward to build some lactic acid and empty my legs on the short 55 km route that consist of two approximately 27 km loops. It will be flat and windy, that means suffering for me. I pre-filled my race calendar for the 2015 season, and will complete it during spring. Fincycling will also race on Sunday in Lattomeriajot, will be great to see how they open up their season!

Enough of talking, I will continue developing the site in the near future so hopefully you stay tuned for those news within the upcoming weeks. As usual, I like to throw some pictures at you, so here you go, enjoy!

Let's begin with food this time. I've been struggling with calories. Saying no is sometimes so darn hard!

Motorpacing. A pity they were learning to drive, so the speed was below 30km/h

First ohensaari ride this year in sunny weather

Hi there

Two things I like in one picture.

Finnish countryside bathing in sunshine

Enjoying every bit of a small hill

One of the greatest days in cycling, watching the Paris-Roubaix

Enjoy your week, it's soon weekend!
